Did you know that a Dutch survey of 2021 among 13,000 women shows that 1 in 5 women surveyed experienced their birth as negative?

​These were the most common reasons:

​- No choice, for example in being able to choose an attitude yourself (39.8%)

- Lack of communication; the feeling of not having received enough information (29.9%)

- Lack of support (29.9%)

- Rough treatment/violence (21.1%)

Women who give birth are powerful and vulnerable. They can do it themselves, but they don't have to do it alone. In addition to a midwife and your partner, a doula can help you to trust your body (again). By being there for you physically and emotionally during childbirth, she can also coach you through medical procedures without getting you out of your birth bubble. You get to know each other well during your pregnancy and when you go into labor she offers you continuous guidance, so that you feel safe. Whatever happens.

As your doula, I am beside you and behind you, whatever choices you want to make. I am with you when you give birth, I support you and I stay with you, regardless of the duration of your labor. I help you and your partner prepare practically and emotionally for childbirth. We form a team in which we all know what our job is. I am here to support you during the birth of your child. For you, for you.

Whether you are giving birth for the first time or have given birth before. Whether you want to go for a vaginal birth after a caesarean section (VBAC), or still want to try to have your baby born in a breech position. Together with you (and your partner) we will look at how we can achieve this and what the alternative scenarios are, should things turn out differently.
